week 16

this was me last sunday in my easter outfit...

oh, i didn't tell you...it came with a vest (check out my teeny tiny pocket square)

here's me and dad striking a pose on the porch...wow, it's a long way down...

here's dad and his mini me

i never get enough shots with mom (probably 'cause she's always the one taking 'em)

all that posin' really wore me out

even though i was looking exceptionally cute, sunday i wasn't my usual chipper self...i was truly a moody baby (and not just because i've been photographed by joy moody...she gave me this onesie just in time). mom didn't quite know what was going on until i started chomping down on her fingers during church. she finally figure out i've started teething...by tuesday i was back to normal...just in time because i made a new friend...

this is nyla...

and this is mrs. robin, nyla's mom. i went over to their house on tuesday. mom and mrs. robin decided to do some baby swapping to try and get some work done on their dissertations.

we had big fun in babyland!!! and nyla returned the favor and came over to our house on thursday (don't tell dad i had a girl in my bed)

this is me in my dr. seuss outfit with thing 1 and thing 2...mommy says she's glad she only has a thing 1

this, my friends, is the last bit of diapers i got as baby shower gifts. because of all the wonderful friends mom and dad have a church, work, and school, they are just now having to buy diapers...and boy were they glad they were spared for the first 4 months (have you seen the price of diapers lately?!?)

here i am with my "g diapers". they're a pretty cool cross between disposable and cloth. i've made my share of landfill contributions (did you know it can take up to 500 years for a disposable diaper to biodegrade?), so i'm gonna try these out and see if i can minimize my global footprint...

they're good for catching drool...lets hope they do as well when i have one of my famous blow outs...

and did i mention that the "little g" pants make my bum look so very cute (at least that's what mom says)

have a great week!

week 15

this is me and my auntie claudia (i promised her a pic way back in week 5); i'm wearing the outfit she got me for christmas...

i've got a little more growing to fill out these pants, but gimme a few more weeks and i'll get there :o)

this is me at my first birthday party...i was resting up so i could get my par-tay on...

this is xzander the birthday boy...he's my future running buddy at church...the party was at smith playhouse and boy was it fun.

this is me telling dad all about the party and how much fun i had.
we had a busy week, but mom kept forgetting to bring the camera...like when i went to work with her on wednesday...she weighed me in the nutrition and growth lab, and i was 14 pounds (really it was 13lbs 15.9 ounces, but who's counting).
then we went to the school of nursing...mom and i were on a panel with 9 other moms and their kids talking about their birth and breastfeeding experiences. it was for a good cause...to help educate jr and sr level nursing students on how to take care of moms and their babies.
it had to be a good cause because we went there instead of a playdate with all of mom's doctoral nursing student friends who had babies last year too. it was 5 of them all together...and guess what...they all had boys. mom thinks someone should study that...maybe there's something in the water???

so here's a picture of all my buddies (noah, jude, vittorio, and conor). i'm looking forward to next time guys.
i also took my first trip to reading terminal (again mom forgot the camera...she's got to do better). i got to meet sis. karen from san antonio and sis. carmen from jacksonville...i woke up just in time for sis. karen to snap a picture of me, so when she sends it to mom, i'll tell her to post it.
i also went to lunch with my aunties monica and claudia, but i was alseep and missed the whole thing (although i did hear them talking about how good the chicken wings were). then i went to manayunk for the first time. mom went to belly and bought a new diaper bag and some shoes for me (again no pix...let's start a petition).
speaking of shoes...my auntie 'meak (my real aunt, daddy's sister tomeka) sent us girl scout cookies this week and a pair of black patent leather shoes for me...woohoo, can't wait to take those puppies for a spin (the shoes that is). i gotta give her a shout out (and all her friends at shands-jacskonville hospital who check me out every week)...thanks for all the love!
mom took lots of pix on sunday to make up for the lack thereof this week. maybe she was giving me a break afte my 2 hour photo shoot with ms. joy...who knows

week 14

WHAT?!? i'm 3 months old already???

mom got me some more new shoes...pretty spiffy

as promised, mimaw came to visit us this week...she was very excited (can you tell?)

she works at the texas education agency, so of course she brought books for me (from her and from her friends at work). i was supposed to be reading by the time she left...i'm still workin' on it

this is me and mom, mimaw helped mom put my footprints on a tie for dad...i was pretty cooperative...daddy thought it was really cool
mimaw and i had so much fun playing, we wore each other out

she also brought me a "hug hound"...mommy can heat or cool his insides to give me hot/cold therapy. but as the directions say...do not put the doggie in the microwave...

i was on top, but the next thing i knew...

the doggie was on toppa me...hey, how'd that happen?

she also brought me a little clifford from ms. cammie...he was a riot!

here's me and mimaw bonding...

here she is getting me freshened up for my photo shoot...

i had my first photo session with a real photographer (no offence mom), her name is joy moody. she even brought me a present...a cute teddy bear and a onsie with a "moody baby" on the front.

i had big fun taking lots and lots of pictures, i'll tell mom to post the link when ms. joy puts them online. i was worn out and went right to sleep as soon as we finished. while i was sleeping mom and dad snuck (is that a word?) out and went to dinner and a movie. i guess it's ok...i was in good hands and had some more fun playing with mimaw.

this was a quick trip for her, but she'll be back in may...here's her with mom at the airport...my two favorite redheads :o)
i've got my first birthday party to go to next week, so check back to see those pix...

week 13

here's me at 12 weeks old...my how time flies...seems like just yesterday i was listening to all these sounds from inside mom's tummy...the thought of being on the outside still amazes me sometimes (hence the perplexed look on my face)

i'm really into my new kicks...i come by it honest...mom and dad are shoe fanatics

you ever get that feeling one of your stuffed animals is about to sneak up on you?

me and dad stylin' again

no i'm not going to the bathroom, i was trying to take a peek at my socks

we had nice weather again this week, so mom and i took advantage of it and went for a walk around the neighborhood.

mommy says daddy makes a face just like this one...she'll post the pic so you guys can see

this was a monumental week for me...i finally figured out how to get that pesky index finger out of the way so i can suck my thumb unincumbered. woo hoo!!!

this is dad making faces at me...makes you wanna laugh too, hunh?

here's me contemplating the meaning of life...

more contemplation...this time i was thinking about my receding hair line...mom assured me it'll grow back...

...we shall see

this is me with a book from mrs. atta (dad's co-worker's mom). it's all about barack obama. she wanted me to learn about my history (and history in the making) to help equip me for my journeys in the future.

and after having mom and dad read it to me, i just have three words for you guys...
YES WE CAN!!!

lots of excitement next week...i'll be 3 months old and mimaw's coming to town!
