week 24

here's me getting a headstart on my patriotism (please excuse my missing flag lapel pin). i had lots of fun with mom's family...can't wait to get down to texas and see them again. stay tuned...the sumpters (dad's mom and dad) are coming next week...

week 23

this was my present to mom on mother's day...instead of breakfast in bed, i gave her "baby in bed". it was a big hit! she reminisced about when i was a wee lad and used to sleep with her and dad. this combined with the card i got her (ok so dad helped me with that one) brought her to tears. dad fixed breakfast too, but i was alseep for all that.

so this is the new lady in my life...mrs. yvette (pronounced why-vet not ee-vet). she's my babysitter while she looks for a real job (as if playing with me wasn't what she had in mind while she was getting that MBA).

we have big fun! we sing, we dance, we read, she tells me about her adventures in the peace corps in burkina faso. she loves long walks on the side walk and has even mastered the "rip, swish, flush" of my g-diapers...what more could a guy ask for? i'll be sad to see her go...maybe mom and dad can throw in some health benefits and paid vacation to sweeten the deal so we can keep her...hmm

we had a visit from the jacksons this past week. no, not michael, tito, and jermaine...it was jesse, sharon, and julian...AKA mommy's family. yes, mimaw, grandpa jack, and uncle juju came to see us. here's me in a outfit from mimaw that mom couldn't wait to put me in...some talk about hams and rolls (did i mention it's almost time for me to start solid foods?).

this is mom's brother julian...known affectionately by me as uncle juju. he was the designated baby carrier this past weekend...i think he likes it. this was my first time meeting him...i can't wait 'til i get bigger and he can show me the finer points of the PS3 and the iphone (although there's no telling what version either of these 2 will be on by the time i'm old enough to use them).

i made an amazing discovery this week. i've heard them called toes, feet, tootsies, and piggies...whatever they are, they're mighty tasty! i love my thumb, but my new found discovery comes in a close second.


mom tries to cover them up with socks, but i WILL NOT be denied! stay tuned for more pix of the jacksons...

week 22

mom and her comb-overs...i've got 2 words for her..."you're fired"

yes it's deja vu all over again...this is me on christmas eve...i was only 2 weeks old! time sure does fly (i guess that means i'm having fun)

i've been working out to try and strengthen my core since sitting is such hard work...

lean to the right...

lean to the left...

lean to the front...

...i've learned the hard way that leaning to the back is not such a good idea :o(

so we had a couple of the fellas over on wednesday for a play date. this is conor...i think he's going to be a culinary genius one day...he's checkin' out the waffle maker here, but he's also into muffin pans, spoons (aka magic stirrers), and tupperware

speaking of cheerios, i learned that they are best served...on the floor...can't wait 'til i can eat cheerios off the floor (again mom said, she can)

friday mom and i joined mrs. heather and jude at (the school of nursing) phd open house...we had to represent and show it's possible to be a mommy and a student at the same time (and still be able to put together a matching outfit and a coherent sentence).

good news, i've got a new sitter; her name is mrs. yvette. mom forgot to get a picture of us, so i'll have to post one next week and tell you all about her.

i hope all the mommy's out there had a mother's day so wonderful it made your mouth water!

defying gravity ain't easy...

i've been sitting longer and longer these days, and unfortunately mom decided she wanted to shoot a video of me after i had been sitting for a while (probably a whole 2 minutes), so you get to witness my tumble (how embarassing).

week 21

what!?! who pays $60 for baby clothes???

thanks to burlington coat factory...not my mom and dad. this is an outfit dad brought back from reno...i've still got some growing to do before it fits, but mom and dad wanted to play "dress up" with their favorite little doll in the meantime

as mentioned last week, i went to school with mom this week. she had the last session of her teacher education program...here's me with ms. sue at the head of the class

this is me on the play mat during break time in the research office where mom works...ms. liz knows how to get down on my level

here's me and ms. rachel again (there's a shot of us from the last time mom had class [week 9])...what can i say...pediatric nurses love me

case in point...here's dr. o'sullivan...she's a pediatric nurse practitioner too and i helped her give part of her lecture (even with my thumb in my mouth)

to celebrate the completion of the program we all went out to dinner at penne (the inn at penn)...here's me with mrs. lori...she's a nurse anesthetist...maybe that's why i slept through dinner...you think she slipped me something mom?
