my j'ville peeps

my dad was born and raised in jacksonville, florida where lots of the sumpters still live. sit back (or lie back) and enjoy some pix of the good times i had in j'ville with my family...

this young lady's no stranger to the blog...this is dad's mom...grandma sumpter. i was cracking up at a joke she just told...

here's she is again...height seems to run in the family...g'ma is 6 feet tall...can't wait to see if i got some of those genes in my pool

and this sly fox is dad's dad...grandpa sumpter...AKA "bad banana"...that's his CB handle...i learned so much about the world of CBers as g'pa's conversations would interrupt our radio listening and even chime in through the intercom system in the house...pretty powerful stuff (but i guess when you have antennas that high on your house, you can do those sorts of things)

this is grandpa's sister, auntie pearl. his brother, uncle bernell, also came by to see me, but i was too busy crying to pose for any pictures with him...i wasn't ready for the beard uncle bernell...next time...

this is one of auntie 'meek's 4 kids, my cousin keirani. she's going to the 4th grade in the fall and she promised to take good notes and share them with me...in about 9 years.

this is auntie 'meek's oldest, janae with her two kids, damien and damiya...boy were they excited to see me...

but could no longer contain the love...can i get a little help here dad? my other cousin brittany came home from the university of florida (took a break from all that partying, hunh?) to see me but somehow escaped pictures, as did my other cousin brandon. i think we may have caught them in the mix at the shower...i'll be sure and point them out.

i had so much fun meeting all the sumpters and can't wait to get back down to florida to see them again...or who knows, maybe they'll come up to the philly 'burbs to see us... stay tuned for shower pix...
