party over here...

so now that "i am 1" i needed a party to celebrate, and mom and dad needed a party too to celebrate making it through the first year...all those sleepless nights (little do they know, they've got more of those in their future)
mom's 2nd attempt at cupcakes turned out MUCH better than the 1st. she actually found a cake mix that met all of my allergy stipulations (hooray for cherrybrook kitchens gluten free dreams!!!).
that's one of my cupcakes up top...it was #1...mom's got pix to prove it...

i peeled the frosting off and had it in my left hand and the cupcake in my right...

so i took a bite of frosting...

and then a bite of cupcake...then a bite of frosting...yum yummy
here's mom and dad and me loving the chocolate-y goodness they call cupcakes...mmm-mmmm good

wish this cupcake was real...wouldn't that be some good eatin'. this was the pinata my dad and jude's dad (mr. derek) put up. only one of those strings releases the goodies inside and of course i as the b-day boy got to pull first. and which one should i choose but the magic string that unleashed a rainstorm of candy and trinkets on the floor. oh well, at least it looked pretty.

i have to give a special shout out and thank you to miss dana for being the "hostess with the mostest". she was my party emcee and because i wanted everyone to experience the wonderfulness of rainbow rob, she read it to us during 'story time'. thanks miss dana! (you can see mrs. heather and jude in the background)

here's story time with all my friends and their parents...(clockwise from miss dana: miss heather, jude, and mr. derek; mr. jim, mrs. courtney and elizabeth; mia and mrs. julie; a piece of mrs. kerry and lily; and me going to the kitchen to get more drinks for my guests)

here's mrs. kerry and lily. lily and i got to the same daycare, but i knew her way before then because mrs. kerry and mom were in prenatal yoga together... we had yogi baby chi flowing...

here's another one of mom's yoga buddies, mrs. courtney and elizabeth (who didn't want to smile for the camera). elizabeth's dad, mr. jim is floating around somewhere too

this is miss biba, who works with daddy and her nephew dylan...who i actually saw at the please touch museum the week before. and hey, there's mr. jim in the background.

here's jordyn (and a piece of her mom), my friend from church. she enjoyed her cupcake almost as much as i did...

there's the rest of jordyn's mom, sis. renise and xzander (whose party i went to almost 9 months ago) and his mommy sis. bea

here's xzander's dad, bro. quentin getting him ready to go bye-bye

and these are the nelms (remember from thanksgiving). they surprise daddy and came to celebrate with us. a big heartfelt thanks to all my friends who were able to make it out to my party (mom didn't get pix of them all but you know who you are) and to those who couldn't make it...i know you were sending your positive thoughts and well wishes. i had BIG fun thanks to you all (and you too mom and dad).

week 52 = year 1

happy birthday to me! as most kids, i was more interested in the box my b-day gift came in than in the gift itself...thanks mom and dad for 2, 2, 2 toys in 1
the real toy wasn't too bad either...

my other present was my fav book from day care, "rainbow rob". my classmates and i go ga-ga for rainbow rob, so mom bought me my own copy to love whenever i want. here i am applauding daddy's rendering of rainbow rob...bravo father, bravo.

because of my food allergies mom was presented with a challege...how to make dairy/egg/wheat/nut-free cupcakes...

well, her first attempt wasn't so successful. she did learn from her mistakes...fyi, when you use white rice flour, add some starch (corn or potato) and some gum (not bubble or chewing but xanthan or guar)...i'm making mom want to be a better cook.

i got a call from g'ma sumpter to wish me a happy b-day and of course mom wanted to get a pic...gee whiz mom, can't you see i'm on the phone!

i thought if i ignored her she would stop snapping pictures...yeah right. just kidding mom. thanks mom and dad for a great b-day...i can't believe i've been on the outside for a whole year...i must've been having fun b/c the time sure did fly.
